Plants of the Field
And you shall eat the herbs of the field. ~Genesis 3:18
Right outside your doorstep lies a pharmacy of medicine growing all around you. Things like Dandelion, Creeping Charlie, Golden Rod and many more are not exactly the noxious weeds that you have been taught. Each contain an amazing assortment of vitamins and minerals. Each have specific healing benefits for your body.
For example...
Dandelions - contain vitamins A, B complex, C and D. They also have iron, zinc, boron, calcium, and potassium. They are great for detoxing, lowering cholesterol, can help combat inflammation and so much more.
Creeping Charlie - contain vitamins A and C, magnesium, iron, and calcium. They are excellent for drawing out heavy metals, boost immunity and can even help reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease.
These are just a couple of examples. There are so many more that provide a plethora of benefits for your health and well being.
Yet, we have been led to believe that letting these grow in our yard is bad and we must eradicate them. If we don't comply, what will people think? So, instead of reaping the benefits that these little power packed plants could provide us, we surround ourselves with deadly chemicals to get them "under control." Hmm. Who is really under control? Have we stopped to ask ourselves, "If these chemicals kill weeds, what else do they kill?"
"The difference between a flower and a weed is a judgement." ~Author unknown
I recently learned that the plants/weeds that grow naturally in your area will most likely benefit you the most and probably contain nutritional benefits that you may lack.
Doesn't that sound exactly like our loving God to surround us with the things we need most? Almost like manna sent from Heaven for our benefit.
"And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good." ~Genesis 1:12
I have been on a mission to improve my own health using the plants in my backyard. I have benefited greatly from using things like Goldenrod, Mullein and Dandelions.
Join me on my journey to reap the benefits of life giving plants all around you. Discover what lies just outside your door and how it can benefit you. Let the hand of God lovingly provide all that you need and watch how He brings healing and vigorous health to your body. He is so faithful and He is so good.
Pray with me...
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for providing plants for our benefit. Teach us to think differently about them and to use what You provide for our healing. Teach us more and more and restore knowledge that has been lost and buried by the pharmaceutical giants in our land. Show us how to move away from depending on them. Heal us, Father. Heal our hearts and our minds so that our bodies can be well. Heal us deeply. Draw near and remind us of Your love and compassion. In Jesus Name
