The Great I AM

Jesus answered, "I AM the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." ~John 14:7

The Bible reveals many names for God; the Great I AM. Each name holds specific meaning and a unique description of Him. Each name that is used in scripture describes Him and His character in that moment. All of the names together give us a glimpse of who God is and His amazing attributes.

Many names of God start with El which means power and might. Jehovah means I am; I am the one who is.

YAHWEH is considered the only proper name for God and is translated as LORD. It describes Him as present, accessible, and near.

As I write this blog, it is early in the morning. The sun is slowly making it's way above the trees and an orange glow fills the room. I am reminded that God is the Bright and Morning Star.

Peace fills the room and surrounds me. Jehovah Shalom, the Lord is peace, He is with me.

YAHWEH-Elohim is the Creator of this day and El Shaddai is the Lord God Almighty and He is worthy of praise.

As the day stretches before me and the cares of this world feel heavy, I trust that El-Roi, the strong one who sees, will go before me.

Adonai, the King of Kings, and Lord over all, has all my cares held safely in His hands.

El-Gibhor is a mighty God and Warrior, He is mighty to save. NOTHING is too hard for my Rock and Stone of Grace.

Jehovah-Jireh provides and El-Elyon is Most High!

As you ponder the day before you and all that is in front of you, take the names of God with you. Let His mighty name surround you, strengthen you, and equip you for each day.

YAHWEH-Roi - The LORD is our shepherd

YAHWEH-Jireh - The LORD will provide

YAHWEH-Nissi - The LORD our banner gives victory in spiritual warfare.

Jehovah Rapha - The Lord that heals

Jehovah M'Kaddesh - The Lord who makes holy

Heavenly Father,

You are the Great I Am and we praise You. Thank You for giving us a glimpse of who you are by revealing Your various names in Your Word. We so desperately need every aspect of who You are.

Comfort us when our hearts ache. Strengthen us when we are weak. Rejoice over us when we experience victory. Sit with us in the quiet of the morning and fill us with peace.

We lay down our lives and all of our burdens. You are more than enough to satisfy our hungry souls. You are more than enough to handle today's issues.

Be glorified in our lives more and more. Thy Kingdom come and Thy will be done. In Jesus Name
