Hedge of Protection

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. ~Matthew 24:13

As evil increases and the world feels upside down, we pray. We need God's wisdom and protection to navigate through these trying times.

Psalm 91 is filled with promise of God's protection for all who cling to Him and acknowledge His name.

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Psalm 91: 1-15

Below is my Psalm 91 prayer and hearts cry for all of us. Pray with me for God's hedge of protection to surround you and your family.

Heavenly Father, As the world quakes and shakes and evil seems to be overpowering good, we cling to You. You are a mighty fortress and we hide in the shadow of Your wings. Surely You will save us from the snares and the pestilence being unleashed by the wicked and ungodly who think they have power, who think they are succeeding with their wicked plan, but cannot.

Cover us with Your feathers and hide us from their dreadful plots and schemes. We have nothing to fear when You draw near. No plot of man, nor wicked scheme can prevail against us. Let us see with our eyes the punishment of the wicked. Bring forth their judgement and let us see their plans crumble and get crushed by Your mighty hand, Lord.

You are our refuge and hiding place, let no harm or disaster come near us. Set Your hedge of protection around us. Please send Your holy, waring angels to fight for us. Give us strength, day by day, to fight the battle against the darkness that threatens to overtake us. Cover us in Your armor as we fight the battles that wage war against our souls. Help us to use Your Word as a weapon to fight the evil and to build each other up.

We love You and we acknowledge Your name, Most High God. We call on You and You alone to draw near and deliver us. Honor us, satisfy us, and show us Your reward. In Jesus Name, Amen
