All in a Day

I, the LORD, will hasten it in its time. ~Isaiah 60:22

The Bible is filled with miraculous and mighty movements of God. When God moves His hand, it is quick and swift. He is no waster of time. However, to us, at times, it feels like He is slow, inattentive, and seemingly ignoring our pleas and our cries for help. Especially when we think we know what needs to happen to "fix" our situation and calm our anxious heart.

Oh, how easily we forget that He is God and the power of His mighty Hand! His ways are higher and His viewpoint is much more vast than ours is. He may be slow to anger, but He certainly is not slow to move. He is never late, never early and always on time. The Bible reveals this over and over.

The walls of Jericho came crashing down in one breathtaking moment because of the obedience of Joshua and his men and by the power of God Almighty.

So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. ~Joshua 6:20

One moment the wall was there, the next it was gone! A pile of rubble remained and the city was exposed for Joshua and his men to take it over. Is anything too hard for God?

But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. ~Luke 18:27

In the great Exodus, the Red Sea appeared to hold Moses and the Israelites captive; trapped by Pharaoh and his approaching army. The dark of night settled upon them and they were afraid. Terror must have struck their hearts as they heard the hate filled army coming for them. They blamed Moses and cried out to God. Moses stood strong in his faith and was not moved.

And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. ~Exodus 14:13

In the dark of the night in came the Angel of God in the form of a cloud; giving light to the Israelites and darkness to the Egyptians. The cloud hemmed them in, before and behind. God did not leave them to die. He was right there to cover them with His divine protection.

And then comes the miraculous....

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. ~Exodus 14:21

Take notice that the sea became dry land. God cared enough to not even let their feet get caked with sandy, or wet mud from whatever lies on the Red Sea floor. Can you imagine how that could have slowed them down? Or, how it would have ruined the only shoes they had to wear? Tell me that God doesn't care about every detail of our lives! Not true. He is intimately involved in every moment of His children's lives, if we invite Him.

By morning, the LORD moved swift to save the Israelites.....

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.” And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing into it. So the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. ~Exodus 14:26-27

God only needs a moment and a mustard seed of faith. Don't be deceived in this hour of darkness across our land that God has forgotten us, abandoned us, or has turned His back. Don't think for one moment that He doesn't see your suffering, your aching heart, or hear your cries for help. Draw near to Him. His Word cries out to you to read it. His heart longs to soothe and comfort you. He goes before you, behind you, beside you and within you!

TRUST.

PRAY.

WAIT.

WATCH HIS HAND MOVE SWIFTLY.

IN HIS TIME!

Pray with me...

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your mighty, powerful Hand that is quick and swift. Thank you for loving us and for Your Word; filled with the miraculous, proving to us the love and care You have over every detail of our lives. Our hearts are weary in battle from the darkness that surrounds us. The days are evil. No one can deny it. Infuse our hearts with hope and courage to keep going. We ask that You would provide Your cloud of protection around our nation as we enter the mid-terms. Reveal Your light to us and darkness onto our enemies. Come close and whisper to our hearts. We long to hear Your voice and to experience Your presence more deeply, moment by moment. We put on the full armor of God and we go to battle, day after day. Fight for us like You did for Moses and the Israelites! We trust, we wait, and we pray for Your Mighty Hand to move quick and swift to save our nation. Thy Kingdom come, they will be done! In Jesus Name, Amen
